Town of Clarkstown engaged a team led by Behan Planning and Design to re-envision downtown New City. Creating a pedestrian-friendly and vibrant town center was the goal

Our design defined streetscape improvements including a road diet, ADA-compliant sidewalks and crosswalks, planting beds, street trees, custom designed light fixtures, sitting areas along with curb extensions, utility poles relocation, drainage improvements and traffic signal optimization. 

This $20 million project included funding from the Town, Rockland County, NYSDOT, FhWA, US EDA and DOE to completely transform over one mile of town and county roads.
