Funded by the City of Albany and Capital District Transportation Committee (CDTC) through its  Community and Transportation Linkage Planning Program, the new Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan was developed by Nelson\Nygaard Associates in collaboration Behan Planning and Design. A citizen advisory committee helped guide the project by shaping infrastructure policies and informing recommendations. Albany’s residents and visitors continue recognize walking and biking as important forms of transportation and this plan will help ensure Albany’s streets become increasingly safe and less stressful to encourage walking and biking. Community engagement, education through public workshops, and assessments of existing assets, policies, and training exercises helped to shape the vision of this master plan.
