The town of Clarkstown sought to address drainage and flooding problems and implement upgrades to the hamlet character through improvements around public buildings and streets. Behan was responsible for planting and trail design around the stormwater management facility and streetscape/hamlet design including sidewalk layout, signage, lighting, amenity and planting design. The finished project includes a major flood control facility coupled with a respectful upgrade to a quiet residential hamlet providing new sidewalks, crosswalks and making neighborhood connections, and included significant improvements around the local Community Center, which serves as a central gathering space to this small but vital neighborhood.
